Rice-fish farming system in Lamongan, Indonesia, employs a polyculture system where zooplankton serves as a crucial natural food source and a key bio-indicator for aquatic ecosystem health. This research supports SDGs 14, namely Life Below Water, by aiming to analyze the zooplankton community structure and its correlation with physicochemical water quality parameters in this integrated system. The study was conducted temporally over three months across three representative ponds. Data collected included zooplankton abundance, diversity index (H'), uniformity index (E), and dominance index (C). The results showed that the zooplankton community was comprised of 17 species from 8 classes, with a total abundance ranging from 40-110 ind/L. The most abundant classes, based on percentage composition, were Eurotatoria and Maxillopoda. Biological indices indicated a zooplankton diversity index (H') ranging from 0.7674-1.2372, a uniformity index (E) of 0.6134-0.9737, and a dominance index (C) of 0.3161-0.5684. The findings demonstrate a correlation between zooplankton community dynamics and the physicochemical parameters of the water, providing essential insights for the sustainable management of this aquaculture ecosystem. © 2025, Egyptian Society for the Development of Fisheries and Human Health.
