Synthesis of rGO from Palm Kernel Shell via ultrasonication: A simple method, eco-friendly and low-cost route for conductive applications

Abstract

In this study, we successfully prepared rGO from palm waste using an ultrasonication method with an acid medium, making the production process both easy and low-cost. Our characterization results were promising: XRD analysis confirmed the formation of single-layer rGO, while FTIR and EDX analyses indicated the persistent presence of some oxide groups within the sample. Furthermore, the synthesized rGO exhibited a notable conductivity of 1.35S/m, surpassing values reported in several prior green technology-based rGO studies. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
