Anam Miftakhul Huda, Pramana
This poem explores the emotional aftermath of parental divorce from the perspective of a child who endures loss, fragmentation, and silence within the family. Divorce is presented not merely as a legal or domestic separation, but as an experience that remains in the child's body, memory, and emotional life. Through images of divided homes, suppressed grief, displacement, and quiet endurance, the poem reveals how children often become invisible witnesses to adult rupture. It also highlights writing as a fragile yet meaningful space for survival, reflection, and self recognition. Aligned with the concerns of poetry therapy, the poem shows how language can hold pain that ordinary conversation cannot contain, offering reflection on trauma, resilience, family rupture, identity, attachment, and healing. © 2026 National Association for Poetry Therapy.
