Abstract

Exergy analysis includes a psychrometric process, such as in the operations of the cooling tower. The total exergy can be split into both chemical and thermomechanical components, therefore enabling one to quantify the contribution of each term to the total exergy through the tower. The total exergy content of a material stream is calculated by summing up these above-mentioned exergies. The specific exergy in the psycrometric process - such as in the cooling tower operating mechanism without the effect of kinetic and potential exergy in a steady state. The minimum exergy destruction was in the top of the tower; it means at the top when the water is first entering the tower, the greatest heat and mass transfer from water to air occur. © 2016 Author(s).
