A flavanoid compound, namely 2',6'-dihydroxy-4'-methoxydihydrochalcone had been separated from the dichloromethane extract of the silver fern (Pityrogramma calomelanos). It was obtained as pale yellow needles crystal with m.p. of 167 - 168 °C. Its structure was identified based on the spectroscopic evidence and by comparison with reported literature data. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
