Objectives from research is to describe the effectiveness of learning assisted by PhET Simulation in improving the critical thinking skills of high school students. Critical thinking skills are very important in supporting success. and student learning independence. In physics learning, students' critical thinking skills are still in the moderate and poor categories, so it becomes a problem in increasing student success. This type of research is a quasi experiment using a control group pre-test and post-test design. Study. This method uses two groups, namely the experimental group. and groups. control. The subjects of this research were class XII A students as a class. experiment. and class XII B as a class. control from SMAN 18 Surabaya. Students in the experimental class were given tests. beginning. before learning and final test after learning. Critical thinking skills data is measured using a critical thinking skills test with indicators from Facione. Next, data analysis uses the normality test, homogeneity test as a prerequisite for applying the paired t-test, independent t-test, and N-gain to see the increase in critical thinking skills. Based on the research results, it was concluded that learning physics with the help of PhET Simulation had a significant effect on skills. think. critical. high school students in Surabaya. This is known from the increase in the average value of critical thinking skills in the high category and the average N-gain also in the high category. There is a significant difference in critical thinking skills between the experimental class class XII A and the control class class XII B. Thus, learning assisted by PhET Simulation is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. Further research needs to be carried out on physics material and different learning models. © 2026 Author(s).
