Abstract

This study aimed to map global trends in studies on teachers' conceptions of creativity in education over the past three decades (1994–2024). Specifically, it used a bibliometric approach. Data were collected through the Scopus database via the keywords “teacher conceptions” and “creativity/creative” in the title, abstract, and keyword fields. The study reviewed 55 documents, drawing on data from 42 sources to evaluate publication growth, article influence, author collaboration networks, and thematic structure. The data were analyzed via Bibliometrix R package software through the Biblioshiny interface, and the VOSviewer application was used as a supporting application. The results showed an annual increase of 4.73%, with the dominant keyword “creativity” intersecting with teacher beliefs, conceptions of learning, and trainee teachers. The Journal of Thinking Skills and Creativity, as well as institutions such as Durham University and the University of Haifa, emerged as the most productive entities. The author with the greatest contribution is Roza Leikin, who is also the center of an international collaboration network, particularly on the topic of mathematical creativity. Geographically, publications are dominated by the United States (10 articles), followed by the United Kingdom and Israel. However, global scientific collaboration has been fragmented and regionally concentrated. Another important finding is the lack of research that connects teachers’ conceptions of creativity to the context of mathematics education, with only 5 out of 55 articles, despite its significant pedagogical potential. Therefore, there is great potential for research on teachers' conceptions of creativity in mathematics education. This study provides an important foundation for future cross-disciplinary research and the development of creativity-based teacher training policies. © 2026, Malque Publishing. All rights reserved.
