East Java's economy relies heavily on the contributions of its women-folk. The mediating role of locus of control in the relationship between financial knowledge and management behavior is still being investigated. This study employs a purposive sampling strategy to collect data from a population of female MSME owners in East Java, utilizing a causal explanatory research design. In this research, SmartPLS 3.0 was utilized for data analysis. The study found that while financial knowledge and financial technology did not influence financial management behavior, financial attitude, financial self-efficacy, financial literacy, and emotional intelligence did. However, other findings show that the link between financial literacy and prudent decision-making is not mediated by locus of control. © 2023 Little Lion Scientific. All rights reserved.
