Persimmon is one of the highland plants in East Java. Persimmons are usually consumed as fresh fruit. However, nowadays persimmons becoming less popular because the number of fruit plants has decreased. In addition, the fruit is ripened with lime, making this fruit dirty so consumers do not like persimmons. This resulted in a decrease in the number of persimmon plants and the low production of persimmons in East Java. This research was conducted to formulate a conservation strategy based on a SWOT analysis generated from the community at Batu, East Java as the center of cultivation. This research is descriptive research by conducting observations and interviews. The descriptive method is supported by primer and secondary data. The results of the research based on SWOT are prioritized to 1) find lime substitute zap; 2) find ways to shorten the vegetative time so that it does not take long to bear fruit, and; 3) find persimmon food. © 2023 Author(s).
