The world has imposed strict regulations on carbon emissions to avoid rising global air temperatures which could harm human health. Diesel dual fuel with the addition or replacement of hydrogen gas is a solution to reduce carbon emissions from the transportation sector. The target of dual fuel mode in diesel engines is to reduce carbon emissions. However, the threat of knocking cannot be avoided because the physical of hydrogen gas is different from diesel fuel. Several studies stated that the reduction in carbon emissions was directly proportional to the increase in hydrogen gas in the combustion chamber. Increasing hydrogen gas levels in the combustion chamber should not be accompanied by an increasing engine load because it could cause knocking. A hundred percent replacement of diesel with hydrogen gas can be realized in diesel engines with correct predictions. © 2023 IEEE.
