Numeracy is an important and much needed skill in the 21st century. Numeracy can train the ability to reason, interpret data, and identify information. Numeracy of prospective elementary school teachers needs to be known by using an appropriate measuring instrument or meeting the validity and reliability tests. Based on this statement, this study aims to provide an overview of the process of testing the validity and reliability of numeracy test for prospective elementary school teacher. The process begins with content validation and construct validation tests involving four experts consisting of one Indonesian language expert, a lecturer in language and literature education, and two mathematics education lecturers using the Aiken's V formula which resulted in very good and good categories. Validity of the instrument was tested using the bivariate method. Reliability of the instrument in this study used the Cronbach alpha method. After that, the validity test in the field and reliability test were carried out. From the validity test, it was found that 7 numeration test questions were categorized as valid and reliable. © 2023 Author(s).
