Agricultural assistance programs are expected to be able to provide farmers' welfare and agricultural progress in East Java. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the program in order to provide an overview and direction of the next program that can encourage the acceleration of the economy of East Java. This study aims to evaluate agricultural assistance programs for food security in East Java. We are reviewing whether the success of the government assistance program has succeeded in increasing income, especially in agriculture in order to respond to household demand for food prices and various other socioeconomic factors. The agricultural assistance program is intended to protect farmers from various shocks that may reduce income levels and affect family food security which impact on regional food security. The underlying assumption here is the inadequacy of information regarding the pattern of household food expenditure which varies between income groups and the types of goods that are predominantly consumed. We use household survey data in Indonesia from the Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) in 2000, 2007, and 2014 with data analysis methods using the difference in difference and fixed effects. A long data panel will provide an overview of the trend of success of agricultural acceleration every time. The results showed the differences between households that received agricultural assistance and did not receive assistance. Agricultural assistance programs for food security have a positive effect on some expenditure of nutritious food. This study also looked at the pattern of food demand among households, both those who received the program and those who did not, as well as based on income groups in urban and rural areas in East Java. Changes in price elasticity and expenditure between periods will provide an overview of people's consumption patterns so that the direction of agricultural policy can be designed to provide welfare in order to accelerate the economy of East Java. © 2023 IEEE.
