Abstract

This paper offers an in-depth review of existing literature that examines how creativity and collaboration are integrated into the Exploration, Creation, Expression, Evaluation (ECEE) model within the context of primary teacher education. Rooted in modern pedagogical theories, the ECEE model presents a forward-thinking strategy for preparing future educators. It centers around four core phases exploring, creating, expressing, and evaluating which resonate with the principles of constructivist, collaborative, and reflective learning. The framework promotes active participation, cooperative learning, and an iterative process of improvement key elements in developing essential teaching competencies. The study uses a structured review process, evaluating scholarly sources published between 2019 and 2024, gathered from multiple academic databases. Selection focused on research closely related to the ECEE model and its application in training primary-level educators, using rigorous criteria for data extraction and quality review. Findings highlight the critical role that both creativity and collaboration play in enhancing instructional methods and pedagogical proficiency. The paper also underscores the importance of assessing these components more holistically within the ECEE framework, given their impact on shaping effective teacher education programs. Furthermore, it identifies areas for continued research, stressing how vital these concepts are in adapting to the changing demands of primary education for both teachers and learners. © 2026, Malque Publishing.
