Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals place a strong emphasis on the necessity of appropriately and sustainably managing the environment, which calls for cooperation in order to preserve and enhance the natural resources for the benefit of future generations. Ngringinrejo Village is located on the banks of the Bengawan Solo River, making it pronze to flooding during the rainy season, causing environmental, food and economic problems due to crop failure. This research was conducted to find out how community efforts are carried out and passed on to the younger generation in managing and preserving star fruit plants so that they become the local potential of the community. This research uses qualitative descriptive methods in data collection and analysis. Data collection techniques are observation, documentation, and interviews of 20 visitors, 8 farmers and sellers. Based on the data result, it shows that the ability of residents to develop the local potential of star fruit in Ngringinrejo village is through in-depth studies related to the types of plants that are suitable for development in the area, implementing the process of planting, managing and harvesting star fruit in a traditional and natural way by limiting chemical ingredients that shows how the community maintains environmental conditions for the long term. Promotion can be done through cooperation from the community who are members of the village organization and the Bojonegoro government. Meanwhile, according to visitors, the condition of agrotourism needs to be developed with new facilities and more diverse star fruit products or souvenirs in order to attract more people and make visitors interested to come back in the future. © 2025 Author(s).
