The increasing adoption of global policy perspectives on human behavior in recent years has sparked debate across various demographic and cultural segments in Indonesia. This research aims to bridge the gender gap in policy preferences, highlighting the differing influences on men’s and women’s opinions on public policy. Utilizing a qualitative approach through structured interviews and surveys, the research explores the impact of political beliefs, experiences, education, and gender identity on policy preferences. The results indicate that men generally prioritize individual freedom and economic growth, whereas women focus more on health, workplace gender equality, environmental sustainability, and economic equity. These findings suggest the necessity for governments to incorporate gender considerations throughout the policy-making process to craft more gender-responsive policies. Recommended actions include adopting nudge strategies in policy development, promoting advocacy and gender perspective training, and engaging non-governmental organizations and civil society actively in policy formulation. Such collaborative efforts can foster a more inclusive and sustainable policy environment, enhancing the effectiveness of gender-responsive policy implementation. © 2024 Angelo Pontecorboli Editore.
