This study seeks to reveal how to provide scaffolding to help students understand the proof. This case study was given to one participant who failed to prove the basic geometric theorem. Data were collected through observation of the process of providing scaffolding via zoom meeting. One student chose the subject from 7 students that completed the task. The subject was a student with the most obstacle in solving the given problem. The student was interviewed as well as assisted in understanding the proof. Thematic analysis of the results of video observations with data condensation, display, and verification data. The results showed that the scaffolding process started from determining the pacing steps to develop a proof, verbally stating, prompting and probing, and generating conceptual discourse. © 2024 American Institute of Physics Inc..
