Syi’ir in Islamic pondok pesantren has various forms of language and functions, the majority of Syi’ir is used as a means of learning in pondok pesantren whereas in ordinary Syi’ir there are elements of messages written figuratively and beyond reason or magic which can influence the reader or practitioner. Which is usually called the power of suggestion. This is part of the reason it is interesting to research. This research aims to determine the practice of suggestion in Javanese Syi’ir Islamic pondok pesantren in East Java, Indonesia. The research uses interpretive qualitative methods to reveal and interpret the power of suggestion in Islamic pondok pesantren Javanese poetry. Researchers are in places whose turn it is to carry out the implementation before when the activity is carried out, and after it is finished, paying attention to the activity on elements related to Syi’ir. So, it can be concluded that suggestion is a technique used by some-one to influence other people or themselves in certain ways and media. This means that his actions came from external influenc-es, not from himself. Sufis use Syi’ir as a very deep therapeutic element, which can change humans for the better. When people face various problems, Syi’ir can be an effective therapy. Syi’ir can be used as a very deep therapeutic element, which is able to change humans for the better.
