Abstract

Agroecosystem modification is one of the efforts to control plant pest populations in an integrated manner. Surjan cropping system is one of the local wisdom cultures located in the Kulonprogo region, Yogyakarta. This study aimed to identify the response of arthropod diversity from the combined application of entomopathogenic fungi with nanoemulsion of vegetable pesticides. This study was designed with two groups, namely synthetic pesticide treatment and a combination of entomopathogenic fungi with nano pesticide emulsion. The entomopathogenic fungal formulation consisted of 100 g corn flour and 20 mL suspension of Beauveria bassiana fungal isolate. It was incubated for 7-14 days until it became powdery spore biomass. Nanoemulsion was made using vegetable pesticide material from Azadiracta indica made by maceration. The results showed that the area where entomopathogenic fungi and nanoemulsion were applied had a greater diversity of arthropods in the Surjan agroecosystem. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
