Islam encourages every Muslim to maintain cleanliness, health and appearance referring to the Quran and hadith. The application of cosmetics, skincare, beauty and body care is permitted as long as it is halal and not harmful. Halal Beauty Care is a new business opportunity that answers consumers’ needs to perform beauty treatments according to Islamic ethics. However, an authorized institution still lacks certified salon, spa, and clinic businesses with Islamic branding. Not all human resources are certified in competence according to their field of work. In the service aspect, there is no standardized service SOP, according to Islam. Not all cosmetics used are halal certified, and there is no standardized tool maintenance to ensure occupational health and safety. This study recommends the importance of standardizing Islamic beauty care to respond to various modern care trends. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.
