Clustering analysis of Leptospirosis disease spread in Malaysia: A case study of 2018 to 2022

Abstract

Leptospirosis is a disease that can suddenly affect humans or animals. This disease is caused by the Leptospira bacteria, which are found in tropical countries due to warm air and moist soil. One of the countries with the most cases of Leptospirosis is Malaysia. Therefore, it is necessary to cluster related to the distribution map of Leptospirosis disease, especially in Malaysia, to find out the class of each region and facilitate handling according to the class of each region. This research used the K-Means Clustering and Elbow Method. With this method, the data that has been collected will be divided into three clusters, namely red zone, yellow zone, and green zone. The clustering results are three regions in the red zone, five regions in the yellow zone, and seven regions in the green zone, which is a total of 15 regions in Malaysia. © 2025 Author(s).
