This study aims to explore the topic of students' critical thinking disposition, both conceptually and in terms of its characteristics. Critical thinking focuses on rational decisions regarding what to believe or do. The study employs a systematic literature review approach with data from the Scopus database. The analysis identified 12 scientific articles published between 2015 and 2023. Research trends on critical thinking disposition are continuously growing, as evidenced by the emergence of various indicators of this disposition. Critical thinking disposition plays a significant role in mathematics education, as it is directly related to and influences students' abilities and achievements in this field. This study maps the literature on critical thinking disposition found in the Scopus database, providing a comprehensive overview of the existing research and facilitating future studies in identifying the state-of-the-art developments in this area. The results highlight key critical thinking themes: Analytical, inquisitive, systematic, open-minded, truth-seeking, confident reasoning, and judgmental. © 2025 Author(s).
