The weather conditions in Indonesia are often unpredictable, making it difficult to determine whether it will be sunny or rainy. This issue is a significant concern for the public, especially for workers who depend on drying clothes, especially when the weather is unpredictable and potentially rainy. Often, clothes hung out to dry have to be left out, which can cause anxiety due to the inability to pick up the clothes when it rains immediately. In Indonesia, the tropical climate is often accompanied by a long rainy season and high rainfall in some areas, causing concern when drying clothes outdoors. To solve this problem, the author developed an automatic clothesline prototype equipped with a rain sensor using the Arduino Uno platform. In addition to the rain sensor, this tool is also equipped with a DC motor. This tool is one of STEAM's product implementations that utilizes the latest technology to help dry clothes more quickly, practically, and efficiently and avoid uncertain weather problems. The development of this automatic clothesline aims to improve the convenience and efficiency of household energy use, which has become a significant focus of research. This smart clothesline has three main stages: input, process, and output. Based on the test results, the device can operate correctly. The weather sensor works effectively to detect the surrounding weather conditions, while the rain sensor works to identify the presence of rain. © 2025 Author(s).
