Abstract

This research explores the transmission patterns of traditional wisdom in Bima society, Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observation. The results indicate complex transmission patterns, including vertical transmission from older to younger generations, horizontal transmission among peers, and cross-cultural transmission between individuals from different groups or cultures. These patterns reflect the complexity of social interactions and cultural diversity in Bima society. The theoretical implications of these findings reinforce understanding of the role of traditional wisdom in shaping cultural identity and social norms, as well as its relevance to theories of cultural transmission and social learning. This research provides insights into how cultural values are conveyed, accepted, and adopted in society through interpersonal interactions, highlighting the importance of traditional wisdom in preserving cultural heritage and strengthening social bonds in Bima society. © 2025, Angelo Pontecorboli Editore.
