Abstract

Problem-solving skills are important for prospective science teacher students. This is because the role is closely related to real life to develop one's ability to deal with a problem. For this reason, good lectures must integrate problem-solving skills in learning. Based on this, research was carried out to analyze the application of problem-solving skills in biomolecule lectures for science teacher candidates. This research is a qualitative descriptive study through interviews with 4 biochemistry lecturers and review the Semester Learning Plan (RPS). The results showed that the problem-solving skills possessed by science teacher candidates in biomolecule lectures were inadequate. This is because lecturers have not found effective learning methods in improving students' problem-solving skills. © 2025 Author(s).
